Nearly £27,000 in sales during our first 8 weeks of working together: Using Facebook and Instagram ads

Ellibelle is an online jewellery brand, selling vintage and antique pieces along with one-of-a-kind engagement rings. After launching in lockdown and not having much success with their previous ad agency, Ellibelle contacted me to take over their Facebook and Instagram advertising.

With Vibing Social onboard to manage their ad campaigns, Ellibelle generated nearly £27,000 in sales within 8 weeks of us working together, 4x more than what was previously achieved.

The Brief

Ellibelle’s main goal was simple – to increase brand awareness and sales through their online store.

But with a considered price tag attached to their beautiful pieces, we had to be crystal clear on who we were talking to, along with their pain points, wants and desired transformations.

Lee had previously worked with an ad agency, but with limited testing taking place inside the ad account, their results had been stunted,

So we set to work to change that. I started with conducting an audit of Ellibelle’s ad account followed by a lengthy onboarding call to ensure we were crystal clear on who we were selling to and the sales funnel we would need to put in place to support the ads and nurture the new leads.

The Strategy

Ellibelle's audience can be segmented into two primary categories -

Because the messaging for these two audiences is very different, we kept them in two separate campaigns.

The treating /gifting audience followed a three step conversion funnel, testing different copy and creative angles and making use of social proof, story telling and UGC content.

At the top of the funnel, I used post IDs to combine the social proof across all the ads which was critical for building authority and brand trust.

As our audience moved through the funnel, we answered their objections with USPs that would decrease the risk of purchase. Such as payment plan options, free next day delivery and hassle free returns.

We tested a mixture of Lookalike audiences, interest based audiences and Advantage+ Shopping campaigns. Three audiences performed extremely well – each with their own copy and creative combination, showcasing the importance of tailoring your ads to your audience avatars.

For the engagement ring audience...

I created several ads that focused upon real life proposal stories. As humans, we connect with storytelling on a much deeper level in comparison to reading the functional benefits of a product – so I knew this would be the best way to welcome new customers into Ellibelle’s sales funnel.

We gathered lots of brilliant UGC content in the form of videos and images and ran those ads with copy that focused on story telling and customer reviews.

For the funnel, we used a combination of brand awareness and conversion focused ads.

In our conversion ads, I made sure to include Ellibelle’s USPs of fast and discreet delivery along with information on their ring re-sizing service.

This funnel combined the power of Facebook ads as well as email marketing. As a considered purchase, the buying process takes a longer so. it is important to look at the marketing ecosystem as a whole.

The Results

Ellibelle’s ads saw a 4x increase in their ROAS from the month prior to Vibing Social taking over the ads…
