How to Protect Your Meta Ads (and Your Sanity) This Easter

The Easter holidays are just around the corner. If you are anything like the founders I work with, juggling the growth of a product brand with raising a family, this time of year brings mixed emotions. You are likely excited for a long weekend, hopefully catching some early spring sun, but there is also a familiar sense of dread creeping in.

Why? Because when the kids are off school and bank holidays roll around, routines change. Attention shifts away from screens and into the real world. As a result, “shopping mode” can take a significant dip.

As a Meta ads strategist, this is usually the exact moment my inbox fills with panicked messages from worried shop founders watching their return on ad spend (ROAS) fluctuate.

If you are trying to balance the impending holiday chaos with keeping your eCom store profitable, I want you to take a deep breath.

To help you prevent the panic, here are the top 5 things you need to do to protect your sanity, and your Meta ads, when performance inevitably wobbles this Easter.

1. Don’t Panic (Seriously)

When you are managing your own business, every £££ counts, and it is incredibly hard not to react emotionally to a bad day in Meta Ads Manager. But 48-hour wobbles are entirely normal, especially during holiday periods.

⚙️ The Fix: Stop obsessing over the daily metrics. Make your strategic decisions based on a 7-day to 30-day view, not a single bad Tuesday.

2. Don’t Turn Your Ads Off

When sales slow down, the temptation to hit the big “OFF” switch is incredibly strong. Resist it. Turning your campaigns off entirely resets the algorithm’s learning phase. When you turn them back on next week, it will be twice as hard (and twice as expensive) to recover your previous momentum.

⚙️ The Fix: If you absolutely need to reduce your financial risk over the weekend, gently trim your daily budgets rather than pausing the campaigns altogether.

3. Keep Your Creative Testing Going

This is your secret advantage. When performance dips, amateur advertisers get reactive and stop testing. But as a savvy brand owner, you need to keep feeding the machine. When others pull back, you keep gathering data and learning what resonates.

⚙️ The Fix: Keep your testing cadence steady. Even if you are strapped for time while managing the kids this week, aim to push just 2 to 3 new creatives live.

4. Make Your Ads Feel “Right Now”

Generic lifestyle ads are very easy for your customers to ignore when their attention is fragmented by holiday planning, family visits, or keeping toddlers entertained. You need to meet them exactly where they are.

⚙️ The Fix: Add a relatable, current-moment hook to your next batch of creatives. Try starting your videos or captions with phrases like:

  • “If you’re in holiday mode and everything’s a bit chaotic right now…”
  • “If your routine has gone entirely out the window this week…”

When your ads are highly relatable to a mum scrolling through her phone hiding in the toilet, you get stronger signals and cheaper delivery.

5. Lean Into Psychological Decision Drivers

During normal weeks, you can rely on “discovery” ads to capture interest. But when buying intent naturally dips during a holiday, your job shifts. You no longer just want them to browse; you need to help them decide.

⚙️ The Fix: For the next 7 days, prioritise creatives that deliver strong psychological triggers. Keep the same campaigns and the same targeting, but use a smarter creative mix that nudges action:

  • Social Proof: Reviews, star ratings, customer quotes, before/afters, and authentic UGC reactions.
  • FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out): Highlight best-sellers, use phrases like “everyone’s re-ordering,” “most gifted,” or “back in stock.”
  • Urgency: Emphasize delivery cut-off times, “limited run” batches, “while stocks last,” or “sale ends soon.”

The Big Takeaway:

Running a product brand while managing a family is no small feat, and navigating seasonal ad fluctuations is just part of the journey. Trust your data, hold your nerve, and let the algorithm do its job while you go enjoy a well-deserved long weekend. You’ve got this.
